*Portal Engineer * *Duration: 4 months * *Rate: Open* *Location: Frisco, TX or Alpharetta, GA* *MUST provide writing samples with submittals, details in Internal Notes.* *They should describe a task that is typically executed by the role. The writing sample should show the following:* - A brief context describing the task. - The steps they plan on taking to get the work done. - They are free to choose the task they wish to describe. - They should use simple text. This is meant to show that they can structure and articulate in writing their thoughts as well as briefly provide context around the task. *Required Scope of Work* - Maintenance of custom Jython and Bash scripts written by devops staff to deploy releases that require manual editing to tailor subsystem configurations. - Automated installations of IBM Websphere Application Server and IBM Portal Server. - Execute Java platform deployments on IBM Websphere Application Server and IBM Portal Server. - Work with JIRA to document work, create issues, document progress and provide status. - Manage releases that are packaged for an initial target environment then re-package the release for the next higher environment. - Manage script source code using the Gitflow Workflow using Git and Stash - Work as an individual with AP environment management, deployment managers, product quality (PQ) testers, development and devops - Produce scripts that test and validate that environments are technically functional. - Gather issues, diagnose problems and restore non-production and production environments to a working state as needed. *Optional Scope of Work* - Periodically work off hours as needed when project needs demand it adjusting working hours to stay within budget. - Attend meetings when requested. - Review deployment processes and recommend improvements where needed. - Respond to requests for assistance from PQ and load test teams when needed. - Execute the role of subsystem SME. - Assist development with subsystem problems in the development environments when needed. *Required Skills and Experience* - More than 9 years’ experience working with IBM Websphere Application Server and IBM Portal Server with an emphasis on IBM Portal. - Experienced with advanced Jython and Bash scripting. - Excellent communications skills with an emphasis on the ability to create outlines and summaries that describe stories, plans and work outlines. - Self-starter requiring minimal supervision. - Experience with breaking down work into tasks into written lists that are then used for status reporting in Jira. - Experience working with both Git and Stash. - Experience working with local zoned Solaris. - Experience working with the resolution of port access and firewall issues. - Experience working to resolve complex technical problems with minimal to no assistance. - Capable of writing cohesive, structured documents to describe technical concepts, designs and procedures. *Required Technology Stack* - IBM WAS 8.x - IBM Portal 8.x - Bash - Jython - Git - Jira - Linux –RHEL 7 / CentOS 7 *Optional Technology Stack* - BigIP and F5 - Solaris hardware *With Warm Regards* PAWAN, [image: logo_final] Genuineit LLC *Certified Women Owned Business* Making IT Happen… [image: cid:image001.png@01CD0B34.DFB7EBF0] Ph: 512 298 3758 pa...@genuineitllc.com pawan.genuineit...@gmail.com pawan.genuineit...@yahoo.com http://in.linkedin.com/pub/pawan-kumar/a6/818/4b3/ URL: www.genuineitllc.com [image: cid:image006.png@01CFA82B.007BD7D0] According to Bill S.1618 Title III passed by the 105th US Congress, this message is not considered as "Spam" as we have included the contact information.
