DATASTAGE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR Location: Jersey city, NJ
Duration: 6 Months Rate: Open PLEASE DON'T SEND DEVELOPERS Coordinates operational designs, develops support plans and provides second level support for applications. Typical activities: ensuring compliance with security policies, monitoring requests, adding/deleting users, installing software, analyzing user requirements and statistics to identify trends and resolve performance issues. This role is referred to as DataStage Administrator with the following additional skill requirement but not limited to: Work with IT staff members to define the infrastructure and system requirements to support DataStage environment. Must have a solid understanding of Unix (Solaris) and Windows environments i.e. can perform administration tasks as needed. Installation /Upgrade DataStage EE server (version 7.X and above) and various DataStage Configure, tune, and maintain DataStage application instances and supporting underlying database and OS environments. Configuration of the nodes (both physical and logical) in DataStage EE server and memory allocation for various processes and log Ports configuration for the various external interfaces Perform user and security administration for the DataStage. Set up the projects, roles, users, privileges in different environments (DEV, QA, PROD). Implement procedures for maintenance, monitoring, backup, and recovery operations for the DataStage. Work with various teams to plan, coordinate, and implement system patches and minor upgrades to DataStage, to maintain the integrity of the systems. Basic knowledge of clustering technology Working knowledge of the underlying server languages on which DataStage is to be installed. Working knowledge of DataStage High Available feature Available for 24/7 on call support for Production related issues. Conduct DR/BCP activities for Datastage during disaster recovery testing Release Support Import/export DataStage jobs across various DataStage projects and server. Take ownership of Release activities which interact with DataStage projects. Working knowledge of CA Autosys job flows with DataStage. System admin activities such as unlocking DataStage jobs. Work with IBM Support to resolve system related issues. Debug the aborted jobs (processes) from DataStage server side. And determine when/how to kill or release some running process from DataStage server side. Along with debug and kill some huge-time-consuming process. Setup and troubleshoot access to Oracle, Sybase and SQLServer databases. Be able to optimize the server performance and avoiding (& resolving) any deadlocks. Debug any problems between DataStage server and client connectivities. Have an excellent handle on server backups and restoration of DataStage.
