Client is looking for Support Engineer The resources will act as the front line for NyRoc, RIO, Unified, JDSU and other applications i.e. NetCool, Remedy/AP, OpsWare, Splunk, Storm, Guavas, Console access to NDC2, Mail LDAP application issues, reporting all bugs or lingering issues to development. Support for Netcool will be handled for interaction with OSS system • Number of positions: 7-9 • We have to set up the team with mix profiles like 2-3 guys who are good with Linux, Server, OS patching..2-3 guys who are good with programming (Perl/Java/Ruby/Python/C-C++)and 2-3 guys who are good mentioned DevOps tools in JD. • We have to share mixed profiles • Start Date: Immediate JOb Details :- Title: Support Engineer Location Denver, CO (with the possibility of Travel to Nashville, TN for first 2 weeks---client will take care of expenses which includes Hotel accommodation and 2 way flight ---) Duration 6 Months CTH to Customer Rate: Open Job Summary: OSS Application Maintenance & Support: The deployed team will perform the following: • All DBA activities such as upgrades, failover, corruption and space issues. • Communication with the NOC/local techs/vendors to schedule replacements. • The team will be responsible for taking care of shut down of the applications and then restart with test after maintenance. It includes fixing of all issues, from major system failures to single user issues • Support for the OS versions, internal OS issues and all upgrades/firmware revisions. • The resources will act as the front line for NyRoc, RIO, Unified, JDSU and other applications i.e. NetCool, Remedy/AP, OpsWare, Splunk, Storm, Guavas, Console access to NDC2, Mail LDAP application issues, reporting all bugs or lingering issues to development. Support for Netcool will be handled for interaction with OSS system • Request handling for setup of VMs where needed and migrate physical servers to the new VMS. • Both DB and application backups are managed by OSS Support Engineers. • Run the Bi-weekly code and feature updates which require a night time maintenance for the applications. Other responsibilities include: • Assessing issues that come up whether code related or due to integrated systems. • Providing hourly updates for any high priority escalation. • Responsible for responding to and managing Service Desk tickets. • Responsible for reaching out to individuals that reported the problem to gather more information (as and when necessary). • Working with other teams if the issue is caused by a related system. • Providing weekly metrics including tickets worked and the number of escalations. • Performing admin functions for some apps.
