The candidate is expected to have recent hands on experience with
*WebSphere MQ in a UNIX and/or Linux environment.
*Experience with other message queuing related software (i.e. Rabbit MQ,
ActiveMQ, AMQP, JMS, etc.) and tools
*(IR360, AutoPilot, etc.) is an advantage but not required.
-A successful candidate must have good communication skills as a large part
of this role will involve working with the infrastructure architects and
other development/engineering/operations/testing teams.
*The role will involve administering Pre-Prod MQ server environments as
well as engineering and documenting new MQ designs for Production.
*There is no on-call requirement for this role.
-Platform Engineering is also responsible for other layers of the stack so
if the candidate has experience with hardware (Dell/Oracle), virtualization
(VMware, Zones, LDoms), operating systems (Red Hat 5/6, Solaris 10/11),
Java, application servers (WebLogic, Tomcat/tc Server), and especially web
servers (particularly Oracle iPlanet Web Server), those are also pluses.
*With that said, the primary focus is MQ for this role.
