We are seeking to hire a Data Modeler/Analyst to be responsible for helping to *design, architect* and implement a transactional data warehouse solution, using current ETL framework of Oracle Databases and the IBM Data stage platform. *Role and Responsibilities: * - Overseeing the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the Data Model for a data warehouse project. - Building all data mappings and creating transformation and quality rules specifications - Promoting innovative data designs and is responsible for the overall plans to initiate and pursue continuous data quality improvements. - Analyzing data that is brought into the data core from transactional systems and vendor extracts. - Work with the business and data stewards to identify and document business rules that need to be applied to this extracted data. Once this data is analyzed and business rules determined, this position will document source and table specifications to be used by ETL Developers and Quality Assurance Analysts in the construction phase of the DW. - Leading cross-company teams and suppliers, as needed, to aggregate and integrate data from dozens of sources throughout the organization. - Translating business requirements from across the organization into data design requirements and subsequent data models. - Providing extensive expertise in enterprise data and information management methods and standards. - Contributes to developing transparent and well understood enterprise data governance processes, rules and technologies to support them. - Drives the business requirement and associated review sessions into effective data integration utilizing data expertise and knowledge regarding customer and associated data. - Promotes data sharing, data consistency and data reusability. - Collaborates with business units and data owners to successfully implement and maintain a enterprise level business analytics and data warehousing solution. Identifies and promotes best practices for data modeling within information areas across the organization, providing oversight for all activities related to data cleansing, data quality and data consolidation using industry standard data modeling methods and processes. - Displays demonstrated abilities in communicating the overall customer data architecture to both technical and business constituencies. - Develops guidelines and best practices to ensure data standardization and consistency. - Routinely responsible for leading strategy plans, development and implementation of the Enterprise Data Model and strategy development plans for usage by Operational Data Stores. Required Experience: - Must have a minimum of 5 years working experience with ETL Architecture. - Must have a minimum of 10 years working experience with full-life-cycle building of data warehouses. - Must have a minimum of 7 years working with near real time integration, to participating in large scale DW programs. - Must have a minimum of 5 years experience providing technical Data Modeling and leadership. - Must demonstrate abilities in communicating the overall data mapping and definitions to both technical and business constituencies. - Must have a minimum of 5 years experience with ETL metadata, systems administration, application tuning and debugging. - Experience with Oracle, SOA. - Deep understanding of relational DBMS and SQL. - Strong experience with data analysis, requirements gathering, and technical experience with writing and executing SQL queries. - Experience in Data Architecture and in Data modeling, Database design, Computer programming (specifically MDM, ER, Dimensional models) Knowledge of Canonical modeling. - Experience in assessing and closing transactional and business intelligence/analytics data gaps in large scale heterogeneous environment where both packaged software and internally developed software exists is required. - Data architecture and modeling experience implementing proper data structures for an ETL solution using tools such as IBM DataStage is required. - Expert level comprehension of SQL, cardinality, levels of granularity, normalized versus de-normalized, handling of slowly changing dimensions, auditing, database and tool optimization techniques and other such data architecture best practices is required. - Excellent Oral, Written Communication and Analytical skills. - Flexibility/Adaptability, especially when working in a large team. - Good Organization, Time Management skills, and Attention to Detail. *Education:*** - A baccalaureate degree. *Required Qualifications:*** - ETL Architect – 5 years - A minimum of ten years of full lifecycle experience building data warehouses with at least 5 providing the technical Data Modeling leadership. - Five Displays demonstrated abilities in communicating the overall data mappings and definitions to both technical and business constituencies. - A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college. – 5 years - Experience with Oracle, SOA. - Deep understanding of relational DBMS and SQL. - Strong experience with data analysis, requirements gathering, and technical experience with writing and executing SQL queries. - Experience in Data Architecture and in Data modeling, Database design, Computer programming (specifically MDM, ER, Dimensional models) Knowledge of Canonical modeling. - Experience in assessing and closing transactional and business intelligence/analytics data gaps in large scale heterogeneous environment where both packaged software and internally developed software exists is required. - Five plus years of experience in ETL metadata, systems administration, application tuning and debugging. - Data architecture and modeling experience implementing proper data structures for an ETL solution using tools such as IBM Datastage is required. - Expert level comprehension of SQL, cardinality, levels of granularity, normalized versus de-normalized, handling of slowly changing dimensions, auditing, database and tool optimization techniques and other such data architecture best practices is required. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Excellent Analytical skills. - Flexibility/Adaptability, especially when working in a large team. - Good Organization and Time Management skills.
