Hi, Urgent Front Office C# Developer - Commodities Power and Gas
Client Barclays LOCATION: NYC RATE:Opem DURATION: 6 months+ The role is within the Commodities IT Power and Gas development team. The Power and Gas team is spread across London and New York and faces off to the businesses in both regions. This role is for a developer based in the New York office. A strategic program of work to rationalize technology solutions across regions is being initiated and work will be divided by function rather region. The team's systems cover the following functional areas: - Curve marking and publishing - Trading decision support - feeds and data warehousing of commodity fundamentals data - Power forecasting - Logistics The role will require work on any of the team's systems driven by requirements from either region. Work may take the form of multi-month projects or smaller rapid deliverables. Main Duties The developer role will require ownership of the full project life-cycle from requirements gathering through development, testing, UAT and release to production. The role will also have second line support responsibilities. The individual filling this role will have to be willing to learn and use multiple technologies. Requirements 2+ years: The individual filling this role must have the following technical skills: · C# and .NET development of server side and Windows Forms GUI components · SQL querying and stored prod development (ideally for MS SQL Server 2008) · Experience with scripting languages (e.g. vb script, python) · Excel VBA - must be at least familiar with how to be debug and use C# Excel add-ins.
