This includes the desktop and handheld US website, as well as various international eCommerce sites. You are expected to write clean, well-engineered code that conforms to accepted standards. Additionally you will work with a technical delivery manager who will organize sprints and tasks for you to accomplish while taking technical direction from the eCommerce managers. Finally you will provide ongoing Unit tests to ensure that the code that is written works well and serves its intended purpose. *GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* (10%) eCommerce Web Architecture • Understand eCommerce functionality and business requirements • Collaborate with marketing, agency and in-house developers, requirements analysts, and technical project team on all areas of UI Engineering • Apply user interface design skills when implementing features (80%) Web Development • Write, modify, and debug eCommerce web user interfaces • Generate tests for User Interfaces • Rapidly prototype new ideas & concepts • Transition developed applications and systems into testing and production phases • Estimate the duration of design & development tasks on an on-going basis • Support production of all applications developed (10%) Self-Directed Innovation • Self-directed research & development of new web and mobile technology applications to improve the customer eCommerce experience • Suggests new technologies and approaches, often demonstrating and championing their use. *QUALIFICATIONS:* • Expert in JavaScript, CSS 3, & HTML5 • Fluency in developing efficient, data-driven applications, with in-depth knowledge of client-side MVC methodologies and AJAX-based communication with RESTful services. Experience with modern frameworks like Backbone, Ember, Angular, or similar is preferred. • Experience developing web sites with international requirements such as multiple languages preferred. • 4+ years’ experience building web-based front ends for viewing on multiple browsers, operating systems, and platforms (Chrome, IE, Firefox, Safari, handheld devices, etc.) • Comfortable with usability and information architecture principles.
