*Business Intelligence Technical Lead Milwaukee, WI 6+ Months Contract* *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Coding and testing of data capture and load processes utilizing industry standard ETL tools from a wide variety of data sources and applications. Work products should consist of well-documented and maintainable code that executes reliably and efficiently in order to consistently comply with data load service level agreements. Leading complex design efforts and providing direction to less senior staff in implementation of ETL designs using company standard tool stack. 50-75% of duties include hands-on ETL development utilizing development tool suite. 25-50% of duties include providing leadership/oversight of team. Preparing system documentation and metadata as needed in compliance with project development lifecycle and internal data management standards. Assisting in the design of relational and dimensional schemas to optimally capture data to support user analysis and reporting needs. *Position Requirements:* *15 years of experience in software development roles, including technical leadership responsibilities. *Strong knowledge of data warehousing methodologies, principles, and platforms. *8 years of experience designing and developing ETL processes using ETL development tools. Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence, including complex load processes, data profiling, metadata management, DQ functions for address cleansing, and incorporating parallelism into ETL flows, is strongly preferred. *2 years of experience capturing and documenting end-user requirements in a business intelligence environment *2 years of experience in the development of logical/physical data models for data warehouse and data mart tables, including star schema and 3NF implementations. *Experience in providing technical leadership for complex initiatives that could involve internal staff, contractors, or outsourcers. This includes ability to lead team through design process, validate estimates, monitor work products, review code, and coordinate implementation into production. *Excellent design skills, including ability to conceptualize complex data flows/transformations and translate those into sequence of steps that can be implemented using ETL tools. Should be able to design for performance, data quality, and simplicity/maintainability, and articulate trade-offs as appropriate. *Excellent analytical and communication skills, including ability to work effectively with business users and cross-functional technical teams. *Excellent writing and documentation skills.
