*Location: Cherry Hill, NJ*

*Duration: 6+ Months Contract*



*Summary of Position*

Responsible for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business systems and
users needs for development, maintenance and enhancement initiatives on
applications. Act as a liaison between the IT and other business
departments as needed.



*Specific Job Responsibilities*

·         Analyze project requests to determine impact to existing systems.

·         Translate business requirements and verbal input from other
departments into more detailed functional specifications to be used by
system vendors and/or IT department programmers and testers.

·         Coordinate/lead requirements definition meetings for small,
moderate and some large sized development initiatives.

·         Manage overall efforts for some small and moderate sized
development initiatives.

·         Work with business partners to determine most effective
procedures for processing insurance business.

·         Identify best method for implementing such procedures into
application systems.

·         Perform actual screen/workflow design for small, moderate and
some large sized development initiatives.

·         Coordinate/lead system testing and user acceptance testing for
small, moderate and some large sized development initiatives.

·         Develop test scripts for all development size/complexity levels.

·         Perform system testing as required.

·         Analyze and validate testing results.

·         Work with IT staff, vendors and business representatives to
identify and resolve problems accordingly.

·         Provide support to users with respects to the research and
resolution of production application issues. Identify resolutions to issues
at any complexity level.

·         Offer alternatives to the resolution when problems cannot be
corrected in a quick and/or cost effective manner.

·         Act as a reference to application users with respect to questions
arising from processing in application systems.

·         Offer processing solutions for those functions required, but not
supported by the application system.

·         Perform product maintenance of IT applications through use of
rate, form and field definition tables with little or no guidance from
senior level IT staff.

·         Ensure that maintenance updates are released within the required
timeframes (as set by business partners or senior level IT staff).

·         Develop training plans for small to moderate sized development
initiatives.

·         Perform training of staff for any development initiatives.

·         Act as a resource/mentor for other business analytical and
developer staff.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.



*Education and Experience*

·         College degree required or equivalent insurance business
experience.

·         Must have 4-6 years of experience in the commercial lines
property and casualty insurance industry with prior knowledge/involvement
in insurance processing systems.

·         Experience writing complex business requirements required.

·         Experience managing requirements gathering and development
initiatives a plus.

·         Experience in the Excess and Surplus lines market also plus.



*Special Skills/Requirements*

·         Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

·         Must understand insurance terminology and business practices.

·         Must have broad experience writing business requirements and
application workflow/screen design.

·         Must have a good internal understanding of the desktop
environment, graphical user environment, and knowledge of how to use
application program interfaces.

·         Must have experience in writing simple to moderate level SQL
queries and performing data analysis.

·         Must be able to coordinate/manage multiple projects
simultaneously.

·         Must work towards attaining insurance certificates (e.g., CPCU,
INS, etc.). Must attend a minimum of one insurance training class per year.

·         Must be a team player and be able to work within a "team
philosophy" environment.

·         Must have experience with Agile Scrum development methodology.

·         Must have experience with using project management tools (e.g.,
MS Project, Team Foundation Server)
