This needs to be senior *WhereScape developers*, and *ideally* have current
experience developing code that between a 'clean' staging environment, the *IBM
Banking Data Warehouse (BDW)* model, and the EMC Greenplum data warehouse
appliance platform. It may be sufficient for the WhereScape experience to
be between the *BDW* and another data warehouse appliance platform, say
Teradata, but we have found that there a is a fairly steep learning curve
between the coding to Teradata and Greenplum. However, a particularly sharp
WhereScape developer may convince us through the strength of his/her
knowledge and skills that we should take them on despite NOT having BDW and
Greenplum knowledge.



*Job Summary: *
The Senior *Informatica* *WhereScape* ELT Developer will be involved in
designing & developing extract/transform/load routines, performing
intensive data analysis, loading 3NF and dimensional data models, preparing
design documents and participating in all phases of testing. Hands-on
experience in designing and implementing data warehouses and data marts for
large financial institutions. Experience leading a development team to
implement high-quality solutions using ETL and ELT tools and related
database technology such as DB2, Oracle.

*Essential Functions: *
Responsible for design, development, implementation, and maintenance of
Data Warehouse and downstream applications, system architectural direction
and recommendations using *Informatica* ETL and *WhereScape* ELT
technologies.
Prepare detailed specs from which programs will be written.
Develop complex workflows and mappings using *Informatica* ETL and shell
scripts to satisfy the business requirements.
Test ETL and reports of others for quality assurance, and migrating
releases into testing and production environments.
Support the UB Data Warehouse batch cycle and any required changes to the
schedule.
Assist the team by helping them in the data analysis requests, internal
controls, performance tuning, etc.
Contribute to peer code reviews for all ETL changes
Debug and troubleshoot issues.
Research and evaluate solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost
effective solutions for the system design.
May provide assistance or training to lower level staff
Provides conceptual guidance to other senior and high-level technical
experts.

*Skills ,Experience and Qualifications *
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems with 8-10+ years
of experience in performing the following:
Full system development life cycle (SDLC) experience;
Experience with *Informatica* ETL, Databases and UNIX a must.
Experience with *WhereScape* and *IBM banking data warehouse (BDW).*

Experience with Data Warehousing and dimensional data models (Star Schemas)
in
Banking/Financial Services experience is a must.
Advance SQL knowledge, database knowledge and data modeling knowledge are a
must.
BI experience a big plus.
Must have expertise in quality assurance and integration methodologies
Must be able to perform well in high pressure, time-sensitive environments
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
