Job Title : Sr. Network Systems Engineer
Location : Princeton NJ
Duration : 6-12 Months Contract
Job Description
Work with development teams and provide assistance regarding:
Integration of applications on designated platforms and resolve any issues
with development
Target environments and architectures
Network infrastructure such as firewalls, networks, routers, etc and
implementation of applications into complex network environments
Operations and production supportability
Enforcement of Security standards
Monitor the overall system
Coordinate with 3rd party vendor on maintenance schedules
Coordinate with 3rd party vendor for infrastructure upgrades and patches to
ensure security and updates are up-to-date to secure the environments
Coordinate with Performance Engineer to assist on tuning of applications
Be liaison with other groups within SR&T (EAO, IPO, Release Management,
Software Test and Change Management) in their daily activities to
ensure smooth transition from one environment to another and on-time
delivery of applications
Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses:
Bachelor of Science with minor in Computer Information Systems
Certifications in Linux and JBOSS a plus
Relevant Years of Experience Required:
At least 5 years’ experience within the deployment, engineering and support
roles.
Additionally,
Experience in working with developers
Experience working with architecture teams
Attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work with many different types of people
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Also would like to see the following**:
Extensive knowledge of Linux RH OS as well as JBoss, Tomcat and Apache
middleware.
Experience with public cloud deployments, specifically with AWS using the
following services: VPC, EC2, S3, Autoscaling, Cloudwatch,
Cloudformation, AIM, CloudTrail, SQS, SNS is a plus
Experience with automation tools, preferably Puppet
Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools. DeployIT is a
plus
Experience with managing centralized logging for data analytics using Splunk
Experience with Application Performance Management tools. Experience with
AppDynamics is a plus
Extensive experience writing scripts using bash. Python is a plus
Knowledge of application build tools (Maven, Jenkins) and central source
code management (using SVN or GIT) is a plus.
