We currently have an immediate requirement for a *SQL Developer * in
Redwood City, CA. This is a *12 months CONTRACT *position.
Responsibilities include:
· Job Responsibilities
- Develop AdHoc reports enabling non-technical users to leverage data for
strategic decision-making.
- Understand the data model well enough to be able to independently work on
converting loosely defined business questions to accurate SQL scripts, be
able to run these scripts against the datawarehouse and present the data in
an easily understandable report or dashboard.
- Resolve user-identified functional and technical issues relating to
reporting services that may impact overall data quality.
- Perform data analysis and other data related tasks as required.
- Wiling to learn new BI tools (Tableau, Google Analytics, Big Query,
Kontagent)
- Be involved in full lifecycle development and implementation of BI
reporting and analytical services.
Skills required include:
- This position requires a BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics,
Engineering or related field
- Strong SQL and RDBMS skills (Oracle preferred)
- Basic Understanding of at least one BI reporting stack Report
(MicroStrategy, Congnos, Business Objects or Tableau)
- Basic understanding of Dimensional data modeling concepts (star and
snowflake schemas)
- Basic understanding of Logical and Physical data modeling concepts
- Some experience with data warehousing implementations
- MicroStraegy experience desired, but not required
- Good oral and written communication
- Good problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
