We currently have an immediate requirement for an *Embedded Engineer* in *El
Segundo, CA*. This is a *12+* *month contact* position.
*Responsibilities include:*
· Shape high-level design for features spanning user interface,
middleware, and device drivers.
· Define interfaces between set top boxes and external systems via
satellite (MPEG) and networks (TCP/IP)
· Ensure design and implementation conform to the target software
architecture
· Create software architecture documents via a wiki platform
*Skills required include:*
· 5-12 years' experience in embedded systems
· 3 years' experience with embedded Linux in a real time system.
· Strong experience in software development, including experience
as project lead, object oriented design and object oriented programming
· Strong experience with multi-threaded development, especially
pthreads
· Strong experience with object oriented design patterns
· Experience with static code analysis
· Working familiarity and experience with UML, networking, and
software development processes
· Excellent communication skills
· 4 years minimum of Java experience and C++
· Experience with the following software tools: Eclipse, Mercurial,
Visual Paradigm
