*Required “C++ Developer” Investment Banking* *Location : Jersey City,NJ* • C++: Must have extensive experience of writing multi threaded server programs – all work is UNIX based. • SQL: Must have experience of using SQL, and ability to write stored procedures, triggers and knowledge of optimisation techniques. • Experience of N-tier architecture applications, including knowledge of performance and maintenance issues, as well as an understanding of the distinction between tiers. • Experience of a structured analysis & design methodology. • Knowledge of middleware technologies (e.g. MQ, smartsockets, Solace, Rendezvous etc.) • Jira familiarity. • Experience of FIX and fpml Experience of banking and particularly STP and workflow systems would be highly desirable. Any experience with GUI development – java swing specifically - highly desirable. The requirement is for a developer within the Prime Services FX and Derivatives Prime Brokerage team • Work on C++ server side components, with Oracle db layer • Analyse, develop and test • Maintain and enhance the system Analysis, Development, Testing Would be expected to carry out all steps of the development lifecycle to deliver new versions and maintain BARX PB, namely: • Analysing business requirements to find the most appropriate method for incorporating them into Prime Brokerage • Documenting any new development or enhancements • Unit / system / regression / performance testing those requirements • Reviewing code produced by others • Working with the business representatives during the UAT stage • Supporting the implementation of each new code release. • Supporting the production systems Communication • Must be able to communicate effectively with other development team members, other project members, other managers and users, gauging the level of technical knowledge of the audience in these communications. • Must be able to participate in technical discussions within the development team, communicating any issues that have a project-wide scope to the necessary level. • Must be able to participate in a culture of “knowledge sharing” within the development team. • Must be able to communicate effectively with users and team members in different time-zones Motivation • Must be self-motivated, setting a high level of professionalism and excellence. Must be willing to take full ownership of development tasks. Quality • Should have a good appreciation of the software quality lifecycle, with emphasis on the importance of the testing stages. • Must also be able to maintain the project standards and ensure that they are adhered to, as well as proactively trying to add to these standards whenever possible.
