Need DB2 DBA with LUW 10.1 for Austin,TX, 6 Months
This Worker will be responsible for the following:
1. designing, developing, implementing and administering DB2 LUW v10.1
databases for a variety of data warehouse applications
2. providing operational support and performance to the DB2 LUW
application databases
3. providing technical expertise and support to the DB2 LUW
application databases
4. managing and monitoring the databases and associated technologies,
5. Provide input into the evaluation and recommendation of strategies,
technologies and standards for all related infrastructures.
The DB2 LUW Database Administrator will also be responsible for database
tuning and database problem resolution as necessary. Additionally, the
worker will *proactively* monitor DB2 LUW Server patches, fixes and other
relative DB2 LUW Server applicable research. This includes involvement
during routine maintenance windows, which usually involves weekends and
evenings.
The Worker must have a proven ability to work effectively across multiple
groups and functional areas (including working w/subject-matter-experts,
leveraging resources), where security processes are concerned. The Worker
must have good teamwork skills, ability to collaborate with other technical
staff on multiple projects.
*Onsite Requirements:* Worker will be required to work on site with the
team. Working remotely will be limited and must be pre-approved by the
Direct Supervisor.

Experience with DB2 LUW v10 database administration in a Unix/Linux Data
Warehouse environment. This includes maintenance, development, acceptance,
test and production environments.

Experience with performance tuning, database monitoring, diagnosing and
resolving production and non-production database problems related to DB2
LUW databases

Experience with UNIX/Linux including Command Line Processing, Control-M
Enterprise (or comparable scheduling software), Data Studio, DataStage,
Optim Performance Manager (OPM) and Data Partitioning Facility

Extensive experience with highly complex security application requirements
5
Working experience with rotating on-call duties related to database support
(24 x 7).

Working experience with Disaster Recovery processes/tests as required

Proficient with the Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Project,
Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.

Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government).

software engineering team) to design and deploy business information
systems across the enterprise.
