Title/Role:Sql DBA/ Developer (SSIS)

Position Description:
The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for data analysis and
database management.
This position requires experience in both database and application
development. The State of Iowa is looking for someone who has a strong
understanding of SQL Server, plus experience developing in SSIS and XML.
Solid development experience with SSIS is important.
The work will initially focus on developing and updating schemas then will
evolve into other project work related to SQL database and development,
such as maintaining databases or writing scripts. The candidate will have
experience working in a fast-paced environment, with aggressive timelines.
Candidate will be modifying the SSIS packages to support the changes and
modifications to the 2014 tax year. They will work with the changes to the
tax code as well as make changes to the file feeds from tax preparation
vendors/companies.

Definitions:
SSISSSIS is a platform for data integration and workflow applications. It
features a fast and flexible data warehousing tool used for data
extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL). The tool may also be used to
automate maintenance of SQL Server databases and updates to
multidimensional cube data.
SSRSThe SSRS service provides a unique interface into Microsoft Visual
Studio so that developers as well as SQL administrators can connect to SQL
databases and use SSRS tools to format SQL reports in many complex ways.
SSRS also provides a 'Report Builder' tool for less technical IT workers to
format SQL reports of lesser complexity.
XMLExtensible Markup Language (XML) is a markup language that defines a set
of rules for encoding documents in a format which is both human-readable
and machine-readable. The design goals of XML emphasize simplicity,
generality and usability across the Internet.[5] It is a textual data
format with strong support via Unicode for different human languages.
Although the design of XML focuses on documents, it is widely used for the
representation of arbitrary data structures[6] such as those used in web
services.
