*Sr. Business Analyst (BI/Datawarehouse)*
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration : 3-6 months
*Responsibilities
*--Understanding business drivers in order to help enhance the data
warehouse and reporting systems.
--Work with business users, understand, analyze and document the
requirements.
--Work with key business end users to conceptualize and document new product
or reporting requirements.
--Conduct business analysis and provide subject area domain
expertise.Incorporate analysis into detailed functional specifications
documentation, including data samples, use case, key project assumptions,
report samples, proposed ad hoc samples, data flows, logical data models and
other details required to bridge the understanding between business and
technical teams.Develop deep understanding of source systems, business
usage, DW transformations and business logic, data issues, etc, related to
key subject areas and/or Data Marts in the Data Warehouse.
--Ability to work at all levels of business and technology organizations to
communicate requirements. Report status/progress to senior and executive
management.
--Work with IMD and BML to synthesize business requirements into a cohesive
technology roadmap
--Ability to solve complex technical problems, assimilate information
rapidly, and work under time constraints
--Aptitude to work collaboratively with other BI and ETL resources to design
and develop effective solutions
Requirements:
--Strong knowledge Databases and SQL - Teradata in particular
--Strong understanding of Data modeling concepts
--Understanding of *Data warehousing* concepts
--Experience with *reporting tools (Micro strategy)*
--Extremely good written and oral communication skills
--Strong database and DW experience
--Candidate should have extensive experience in analytics
--Individual should have solid technical experience with, database
development and *data warehousing* concept/tools (Database design, SQL,
Reporting tools etc.)
--Ability to learn new technologies and functionality
--Ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment and manage
multiple tasks simultaneously.
--Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and experience applying
these skills to resolve application design considerations and technical
issues
--Experience in data modeling in large scale data warehouses using Teradata.
--Implementation experience with ETL concepts and tools such as:
Informatica, DataStage, and BO Integrator
--Implementation experience with one or more of the following BI/Enterprise
Reporting tools: Microstrategy
--BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a relevant field
--At least 8 years experience as a *Data warehouse/BI* Analyst or related
industry experience in a high-paced, global corporate environment.
--At least 8 years in *SQL* experience.
--At least 5 years experience in report analysis and development -
specifically engaging business intelligence, data warehouse projects and
business intelligence tools.
