Universe-manage the middle layer. The Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for working within the BICC and Enterprise Data Warehouse teams to deliver reporting and dashboard solutions that meet the needs of the organization. The developer must work well in a team setting and have excellent organizational, prioritization, communication, and time management skills. - Work with users in Finance community to collaboratively evaluate solutions and alternatives and apply best practices within performance reporting and analytic areas. - Lead all phases of reporting/analytic projects including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, data migration and deployment. - Analyze, translate and develop business requirements into a design of both the metadata and logical data model needed to support both reporting and ad-hoc analysis. - Create, modify, and maintain the data model needed to support reporting and analysis in the Framework manager tool in Cognos, designing for ease of analytics and ad-hoc use. - Design, build, test and implement data model and reporting solutions using the Cognos suite of analytic tools: Cognos Connection, Report Net, Query Studio, Framework Manager. - Work closely with data warehouse developers and architect to understand existing data models, and communicate need to develop new data marts to support analytic requirements. *Qualifications * - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. - 5+ years experience using business intelligence tools, including Cognos. - The proven ability to plan and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines is required. Must have the ability to work in both a team environment as well as ability to work independently with minimal direction. - Strong data analysis skills and creativity in evaluating solutions is required along with strong analytical, problem-solving skills. - Strong knowledge of database functionality/structure, systems analysis, design, and testing. - Ability to carry out position with high degree of customer service, communication, teamwork, and timeliness. - General knowledge of financial/accounting principles.
