Duration: 6-12 months
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be skillful in managing and reporting on the
testing status of multiple development and process-oriented projects. The
candidate will develop, publish, and implement test plans, write and
maintain test scripts, and report to senior management the project's
testing status and quality metrics. This tester is largely self-managed,
requires little direction to complete testing assignments, and requires
little mentoring on testing skills and tools. This position requires
intermediate to expert knowledge of software engineering and testing
methodologies, software development lifecycles, and business terms,
concepts, language, and processes for application functionality. Must have
the motivation and ability to perform critical analysis about how users
will interact with the software being tested, and turn those thoughts into
detailed tests.
Essential Job Functions:
· Manage the testing efforts including, but not limited to,
tracking issues during testing and effectively communicating project
testing status and quality metrics to internal cross-functional teams and
senior management in a timely manner
· Design, create and execute and maintained detailed test plans and
test cases based on testing requirements derived from reviewing requirement
documents and discussions with Product Management and end users.
· Debug and characterize defects, and ensuring defect requirements
are appropriately communicated to development for correction
· As part of an Agile team, attend scrum meetings, sprint planning
and backlog review
· Triage production support issues and work with Operations,
Product Management and the Software Development teams to communicate and
resolve issues.
· Provide process improvement recommendations for improving overall
quality
· Leverage technical and non-technical skills in order to interact
with business clients, business analysts, application developers and
application architects to ensure that test plan execution provides complete
product coverage
Required Qualifications:
· A BS or higher in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
A substitute, a minimum 5 years of Software QA testing or analysis
experience
· Strong Black box / Manual testing and Automation Testing
· Experience testing on the .Net framework and software development
with JavaScript, VB.Net or C#
· Web Application, Browser Testing, Server-side (API's, Web
Services), and Database components
· Intermediate to expert-level experience with relational databases
such as MS SQL Server.
· Experience working with Agile Development or Rapid Application
Development Methodologies
· Functional, Regression, Load, Performance, and User Acceptance
(UAT) testing experience
· Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gather and
analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and has the
ability to present information so others will understand
· Experience test case management tools, preferably Microsoft Test
Manager and Team Foundation Server
· Experience with issue tracking and reporting tools, preferably
JIRA
· Ability to manage multiple high priority initiative
simultaneously.
Other Qualifications
· Mobile application testing experience. Familiar with Android, iOS
and Windows mobile operating systems
· Experience with automation testing and testing tools, preferably
Selenium
· Strong organization and time management skills
· Excellent leadership skills. Self-starter and Team player
· Experience managing testing efforts with off-site development
teams
· Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and react in a fast
changing environment
