Job Description
The Data Analyst is responsible for developing complex ad hoc reports
and performing in-depth data analysis to meet the business need.
The Data Analyst is also responsible for deploying, troubleshooting
and resolving complex issues, conducting data research, assisting data
stewards to support the ATC data quality (DQ) efforts.
The Data Analyst must have a good understanding of project management
concepts and techniques and should have the skills to execute the
activities necessary to reach the project objectives. It’s a
combination Business Analyst and Data Analyst
Responsibilities
• Serve as knowledgeable resource on reports for required business
areas.
• Perform data analysis for businesses and design and develop critical
ad hoc reports.
• Develop report prototypes to shorten the development cycle.
• Gather reporting requirements for change requests and ad hoc
reports.
• Work directly with end-users to identify, investigate, and resolve
technical issues.
• Utilize expertise and mentor others in use of data analysis tools,
techniques and all ATC reporting and analytical applications.
• Assist in development and implementation of measurement systems.
• Utilize specified software to analyze and interpret research data,
as appropriate to the individual position.
• Maintain appropriate records of research methods and results.
• Design and/or develop and ensure the quality of specific databases
for collection, tracking, and reporting of research data.
• Make process and system improvement recommendations that assist the
business in achieving its goals and objectives.
• Perform structured quality assurance testing including the
development of a test plan and scripts.
• Ensure appropriate project documentation is produced.
• Monitor service level agreement (SLA) metrics.
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or equivalent
experience.
• 2+ years experience with PL/SQL and accessing Oracle database
structures.
• 3 years experience with enterprise wide reporting tools,
Microstrategy preferred
• Expertise with <add specific apps here> system a plus.
• Expertise with MS Office (MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel).
• Minimum of 3 years of systems support / data analysis experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing support
procedures.
• Financial analysis experience a plus.
• Previous experience in the design, development, and administration
of complex statistical databases, based on understanding of underlying
data requirements.
• Experience with SAS datasets and programming language a plus.
• Familiarity with Informatica, XML, and ETL processes a plus.
