It is further expected that the Senior Developer will provide technical leadership and expertise in the execution of the Markel Wholesale strategy. *Roles and Responsibilities:* *Analyst* · Perform root cause analysis when problems occur or when inefficiencies are identified · Recommend solutions that improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of business activities. · Analyze and understand the current state processes to ensure that the context and implications of change are understood by the stakeholders. · Develop an understanding of how present and future business needs will impact the solution. · Identify and document all business, technical, product and process requirements and work with the stakeholder to prioritize and rationalize the requirements. · Seek to identify recurring problems or situations and gather information to formulate solutions. *Service Provider* · Understand and comply with department and Markel policies and procedures. · Verify and clarify requirements provided by requestor (BA or user) to avoid/detect missing requirements or unrequired functionality in order to deliver intended service improvements in a cost effective manner. · Ability to provide possible alternatives to business requests when applicable. · Provide time-critical operational support tasks within agreed upon period to ensure daily operations are not drastically impacted and that critical system closing and external reporting dates are not jeopardized. · Resolve customer incidents/service requests within identified service level agreements. This includes keeping customer informed of the status of their requests. · Be available during off hours during critical times to support production systems and applications. *Consultant* · Represent the department on internal and cross-disciplinary projects; serving as lead to ensure any required information/tasks assigned to relevant business area are completed on time. · Directing solutions to align and leverage existing technology standards. · Consult with business units to determine high level requirements and to define the scope of a project including planning timescales and the resources needed. *Technical Expert* · Research new developments and technologies that enable Markel’s systems to be more efficient and IT staff to be more productive. · Plan and verify unit testing before releasing for functional testing or final testing to requestor making sure all affected code has been executed and defects are caught in advance of system testing. · Collaborate with other Technical Experts, working toward system efficiencies and improving service levels. · Utilizes expertise to improve service levels (productivity, timeliness, processes, etc.) which increases efficiencies, reduces expense and contributes to the achievement of Markel’s objectives. · Maintain up-to-date knowledge in current and likely future Markel technologies through proactive research and continuing education. · Serve as lead trainer and mentor for new and less experienced associates to develop their expertise. *Formal Education & Certification* - College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business or related work experience/certification. - 12+ years of relevant general Information Technology experience required or experience in the Insurance Industry. * * *Knowledge & Experience* - Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. - Solid understanding of Microsoft Visual Studio and one or more .NET programming languages (e.g. C#, VB .NET, F#). - Thorough understanding of application development methodologies. - Hands-on experience with standard RDBMS (i.e. Oracle, SQL Server). - Solid grasp of object-oriented design principles. - Familiarity with application integration technologies (e.g. Web Services, XML, XSD, WSDL) *Personal Attributes* - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Excellent organizational and analytical skills. - Excellent customer service skills. - Ability to work with a high degree of independence. - Ability to communicate highly technical information in a business friendly manner. - Keen attention to detail *(Email is the best way to reach me)* Thanks and have nice day! ___________________________ *Madhulika | Jr. Recruiter* [image: image002] Tech Tammina Solutions, LLC 203 Elden St Suite 404 Herndon VA 20170.
