Hi David and all,
yes, it 'struck' me. And frankly, i'm afraid, if some windows admin says
how the Linux should work, are you not? :-))
I am not rude or anything, just saying my opinion. Yes, i'm
conservative, i know it and i'm not ashamed for it.. i simply am no

Have it struck you that perhaps lots of Windows admins and users have
provided feedback on how difficult they find Linux ... and thus
developers have taken some steps to improve

That is very unfair. To my knowledge, there exists no "Linux product

Haha, +1 here :-).
NM is disabled on all my servers, as is the so called 'cool' firewalld.
It's not just RH though, eg. lately, i had to install OpenSuse and it's
susefirewall2 feature with NM was 'killing' my brain for 3 days... then
i rewrote systemd scripts and redirected them at my custom i

This is the kind of frustration that gives rise to new open-source
projects (or at least did in a by-gone era). How badly do you want this
fixed?
You are correct, the art of the command-line is disappearing. Systemd on
7 is painfully rubbish.
Thanks for sharing your trials and tribulations.
