I've been having a little trouble with sound not working on my SL44
machines. I remembered having similar trouble when first
experimenting with the 2.6 kernel on a Debian system, and discovered
that the command "modprobe pcspkr" would activate the system beep.

Has anyone made a softare raid out of USB drives?
If I do this, I have a problem at boot time, because the system
can't find /dev/md0...ie the USB ports aren't operational yet when the
boot process looks for md0.
