lockup of sl5.2

I have a 64bit machine with sl5.2 I have both firefox 64bit and 32bit. When I leave call up evolution and have firefox running, sometimes the machine locks up or seems to be in a very tight loop. Any suggestions? Thanks, -- W. J. Kossler Physics Department College of William and Mary
