The Fluendo DVD player, which is commercial non-free software, should install
ok on RHEL6/CentOS6/SL6 (I've run it on F12
The man page for write (and for wall on another well known distro) mention
that mesg does not block the super-user. I suspect this may be the cause of
the confusion.

username on that computer and "pts/6"
