Do you have /usr/lib/libvpkx.so.1 file? Sometimes there is libvpkx.so,
or libvpkx.so.0 and simple
ln -s /usr/lib/libvpkx.so /usr/lib/libvpkx.so.1
is enough.
In general, /usr/lib is a huge mess of those links. Adding one more will
not break anything.

and rebuild it locally. It's not so complicated, since you not had to
touch a spec file. Though you should at least mention yourself in a
changelog.
I do this very often when I need some ./configure --blalabla=blablabla.
