If I enable only the ones below, I cannot start X, only text mode works.
chkconfig acpid on
chkconfig auditd on
chkconfig atd on
chkconfig crond on
chkconfig dnsmasq on
chkconfig irqbalance on
chkconf

Right now when I get a new server, I first disable all services
chkconfig --list | awk '{print "chkconfig --level 12345 "$1" off"}'|sh
And then I enable these ones:
chkconfig --level 1235 acpid on
chkconfig
RHEL became too expensive for small businesses. They doubled their fees
overnight.
I guess now we will be depending on the quality of SL and Centos, but I
don't like Centos, I think they do not test anything, if it compiles they
ship it.
What I would like to see is a faster release of updates, some
free product is basically attempted
fraud.

This is a Virtual machine on Vmware ESXi 5.0, a test box. SL 6.2 did work
fine on the same environment.
Also, I could never boot on mode=5 after I installed the Vmware tools.

One thing: I downloaded Centos 6.3,and could not use it because the Disk
Utility (graphic) does not see the disks attached to the machine, none.
Please test our SL 6.3

Dear Friends
I need urgently to update to the current version of the virtualization stack
from Red Hat, KVM, and specifically, virtualization manager. The most recent
version is
virt-manager-0.8.6-4.el6.noarch
When I Google like this:
"virt-manager-0.8.6-4.el6.noarch download" (please try it)
I
,
and I need to keep them that way, that's why I use rsync.

I am using rsync to send almost 1 TB of sparse files across the LAN to
another identical Linux box. If I fire only 1 command, I get about 22 Mb of
speed, but if I fire 6 commands in parallel, from different SSH connections,
the speed is divided by 6: very, very slow.
My command is
rsync -S --prog
Thanks to all. It works fine with the word BRIDGE. But the discussion has
been very useful.

I use KVM, the technology included in the kernel.

Is there any way to make bridges retain their properties after a reboot,

I have abridge that loses its physical interface when the machine reboots,
and as a result of that, all my virtual machines have no internet access.
Specifically, this command does not survive a reboot.

Dear fellow scientists
Red Hat just came with an important kernel upgrade. It would be nice if we
could get it in our distribution.
