I seem to have developped some problems with mathematica on one of my boxes;
there is potentially an xorg issue. The graphics card is an [AMD/ATI] RV730 XT

I have been trying to use firefox 10 in SL6.2 (from SL6x-fastbugs).

Just had a lovely couple of hours tracing a problem where firefox would hang
very quickly after start-up; even right clicking on a menu item made it
hang. I had missed the fact that the speaker symbol was absent in the task

I note that the boost libraries provided in SL6 do not provide bjam and
related development tools in any standard rpm.
I note that the same release version of the fc13 boost does provide
this--does anyone know the reason for this?

Quite a few-firefox can be a pain...
1- Usually, the issue is with a setting/plugin
2- Run as another user
3- Try firefox -safemode (which disables most of the plugins/extensions)
If 2 and 3 work, you may want to disable all extensions and test one by o
ne.

Bad practice to respond to my own post: Actually, since yesterday the 32

I disagree; it works fine on our machines.
The only niggle is that you need to uninstall 64 bits java and reinstall
32
bits (since the 64 bits install seems to overwrite the 32 bit one in part
s).
That also means everything that depends on it, which can be painful.
I also have modified the /usr/bi

Anyone seen this problem, and have a clue about a work around?
