Back when I did venture forth to see a movie based on a novel, I made it a
point to read the novel first, to be able to see where H'Wood has taken
liberties.

I saw the movie before I read the book so it kind of ruined the book for me.

Then, thinking on it a bit, anything that serves to bring classic literature to
the masses can't be a bad thing. Don't think I'd read it, though. The images I
have in my head from the book are more than enough.
