Mr Worf, a physicist in California proved Hawking entirely wrong on that
count. Hawking even fessed up on it publicly. (I know that only from an ep
of "Morgan Freeman's Through the Wormhole".)

I meant that the other way around string theory is correct and Hawkings is
wrong. Hawkings believed that the energy/matter would disappear.
