Ghost Rider is probably a very hard character to "get" because they
have changed origins, master, motivations, etc. multiple times.
Originally it was the Devil that held his soul, then it became
Mephisto, then he was a Spirit of Vengeance with no hellish ties and
now he's a hellspawn again...I think.

Movie Ghost Rider was a mishmash of all of the above so I feel your pain.
