November 20, 2007 - The Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood gained a sizable following when it aired its first season on BBC America this year. This has resulted in BBC America airing the second season much closer to the original air date in the UK - something that was also done with the new Doctor Who series that airs on the SCI-FI channel. Richard De Croce, VP Programming, BBC AMERICA says: "Torchwood has legions of loyal fans in the U.S. and we wanted to bring them the next season as soon as possible." The new season will feature guest appearances from James Marsters (Buffy, Smallville) and Doctor Who's Freema Agyemen. According to BBC America, Torchwood is an action-packed, adrenalin-fuelled sci-fi series following the adventures of a team of investigators, led by Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), who use alien technology to solve crime. With fearsome new aliens and compelling storylines the second season takes the close-knit Torchwood team through dare-devil action, temptation, heartache and a life changing event for one of the team. http://tv.ign.com/articles/836/836941p1.html Yahoo!
