I have to admit, I liked both Chani's...Did you notice the attempt to 'dummy
up' the language in the miniseries? I feel like I am part of the Brave New
World when they do that...When anyone does that!!!

I did not like Dune the first time I read it. I bought it after I saw the Lynch
version of the movie and thought it might be cool, I was pretty young then. I
tried to read it again in college and got past a few chapters and left it
alone. I had a friend that is fanatical about the series and she

i have tried to watch every john sayles film since i saw 'brother' in
the early '80s. it also made me a fan of joe morton. sayles never fails
to have some sociopolitical statement in his films. one of my other
favorites of his is 'matewan.'
