This sounds a bit as if it did not work on Linux at all - probably that
impression was not intended, but I want to balance out what you said
anyway. It works for me in 1.74 on an Elive (debian-ish) Linux with
Enlightenment 17 Desktop - all of this within a VMware guest on a WinXP
host.

I applied two patches needed to solve the SciTE text selection and
VMware tools copy paste problem (search for that thread in the list).
Nicolas Cachereau provided them and you committed them yourself into the
trunk, I guess. Well, then it is not a pure 1.74, but some kind of
post-1.74. ;-)
