Sometime at the end of last year the tune "Dick Glasgow's" came into the discussions about tunes with place names in the title.
I have recently spoken to Dick and he assures me that it is not one of his own compositions, but a traditional tune for which he has no title. Bernie Stocks had once come up to the house, Dick told me, to record a couple of tunes, and that was one of them. Dick has recently got onto the net, and can now be reached at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Dick has been living on the North Antrim coast for a few years now, where he has been very active in the traditional music scene both as a teacher and a player. For anyone finding themselves in the area, Dick has a folk club - "Black Nun" in, I believe, the Edgewater Hotel in Portstewart. Anyone looking for sessions in the Glens area will find music practically every night of the week in pubs from Portrush to Ballycastle. For anyone wanting to hear some of Dick's recent tunes and songs, he has recently released a CD "From a Northern Shore" on Causeway Music CMCD002 where he also shows his multi-instrumental side, playing fiddle, banjo, mandolin, concertina and bodhran. I have sent Dick the address of the group, and hopefully he should be joining in soon.
