Gtk2 Cin?Paint is capable of Cmyk editing (even not very throughout) and
16-bit printing including proof simulation and colour in/out gamut
preview.
As well Cin?Paint could be called from Scribus with the cinepaint-remote

I'm attempting to use a professional font -- "Goudy Old Style Small and
OSF" -- however, I cannot get it to load in Sribus. I receive an error
that I've seen posted regarding free fonts; however, this font is not free.

When I modify a text within a framework of text (erase, modify and so
on), I cannot cancel.
Is this normal or is this a bug ?

I use Windows XP sp2 (athlon 3 Ghz, 1 Go) and Scribus 1.3.4.
But, with my "normal" machine, Scribus can't edit images.
When I'm trying to edit an image, a message appears : The program
C:\Program Files.gimp-2.2.exe is missing.
But Gimp is in the box.

For now this is normal : undo has not been implemented for text.
