Here are 2 good books on digital privacy. They are not too technical and they cover many aspects of computer privacy (not just crypto). They have been written by 2 of most well respected and recognized cryptographers / computer security people. I- Information Warfare Security by Dorothy

Hi, I'd suggest you to read Network Intrusion Detection An Analyst's Handbook from Stephen Northcutt and Judy Novak (News Riders Edition) They're both SANS and GIAC handlers. It's a real good book, with a lot of easy understanding examples and tutorials.
