Cool idea, but I was hoping for something that would work with the existing
disk, rather than carry another dongled device. I'll keep it in mind if I need
external secure storage.

Thanks Valerie for setting me straight. I thought that crypt was updated as
well.
Anyway, I see that people have been looking at fistgen, but the Solaris
codebase ends at version 2.7. That would have been an elegant solution. If
someone is familiar with the ufs changes from Solaris 2.7 to 2.
