Two remarks about the new release: a clarification and, alas, a bug.
* It was pointed out that the update instructions [1] are not completely
clear: there are upgrade instructions for upgrading to 1.12, and there are
general instructions for upgrade/repair. Please follow the former since they

Markus, maybe it makes sense to release Release Candidates or Betas so
people who want stable functionality can rely on "pure number" to be that?
This will also help testers to roll back stuff it RCs and BetaXs will have
their own SVN tags.
