Should ejabberd automatically create a new database if it does not find
one?
I had already tried deleting the files. But then ejabberd wouldn't start.

specify --nodeps?
If I set up jabber to use MySQL rather than the default flat files, will
any XS-specific processes discontinue to work? Do any XS-specific process
use the files directly?
