Hello,
As you know in the config.xml file there is the "auto detect" xml tag
for the SMTP and POP3 servers. I want to make sure I understand what
these actually do. There is an SMTP tag called "Received" followed by
the name of the mail server.
Currently I have the autodetect XML tag set to
would you settle for deep shortstop? :o)

Bill,
I'm going to be fairly critical, so please recognize that I am being
critical of Danisch's proposal, not your message. :-)
I've looked at it Danisch's proposal before, and posted information about
it. He still has a problem with BIND (see:

So do I, and so do the Avalon developers, who are already looking at it and
talking about it. However, they did not CC our list on their discussion, so
none of you are aware of it. See the thread:

I do, too, but I don’t think that his problem was indicative of the norm.

Anders,
I don’t disagree that the error message from Phoenix is poor, and I have
already forwarded your complaint to the Avalon Developer list. However,
your encounter with it is not the norm. So I don’t believe that “most new
users” encounter it. This is not to dismiss it. The complaint is va

Yeah, same here. Avalon configuration is to James as m4 is to

The biggest one for me is that I have to start the server once before I
do anything, because the files have to be expanded etc.
I tried to setup James 2.2 with

Much easier than sendmail, qmail, etc. I think that the problem you ran

Did you get in already, or are you setting your alarm clock? I got up early
a few mornings in a row to get mine a couple of years back.
Good luck.

James doesn’t get control to do so for that particular exception.
