User repository can be file-based, or in a db.
http://james.apache.org/repositories_2_1.html is good place to start,
and the config.xml file explains some too.

Hi,
I'm trying to integrate JAMES in as the mail server component of a
groupware system, but I can't seem to find where users and passwords are
stored in JAMES and how they work. Could someone overview how users are
handled in JAMES and where the user file is troed?
Thanks,
Cole

Dear All,
I have been using JAMES for over a year. I use it to handle email alerts
from hardware devices on the network. I have configured these devices
with varying userids and passwords as I need the SMTP_AUTH mechanism on.
But, now I have to incorporate devices that cannot support SMTP_AUTH.

Hi, I have been browsing the net and I was not able to find any
information about NNTP plans for future versions. Is it documented anywhere?

The expected amount of users will be at least 200 - 300 000 users.
The repository will be a MS SQL database.
We would like to know of any experience with such a setup.
I expect we will try to have 2 james instan
