Hi Mark,
JAMES will accept emails to invalid users in a domain hosted by the server,
but send a bounce back to the sender and drop the email to the deadletter
repos.So no need to worry

a wrong address, hence stored in "db://maildb/deadletter/address-error"
and after that bounced back to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". Could it be? It would
not be an open relay but normal operations.

I don't believe it will. I put up James in the fall (had an expired server
and dreaded re-installing exchange). I was concerned about this too. I
went to www.ordb.org to have it tested and it passed. My firewall is set to
accept from anywhere and send to anywhere but only from the one ip (which

AFAIK any *legitimate* relay server REQUIRES that a relay actually occur.
james--unless configured incorrectly--doesn't fit that profile.
