I've seen a bad head gasket really screw up the way the car ran. The car would
be running smooth and after shutting the car off for 5 minutes, the car would
barely run again. If a big enough chunk of gasket gets blown, The car can
really run bad and the oil can get a lot of antifreeze in it.

way into the pan and just leave it there. It
shouldn't be able to fit between the pickup and the
oil pan, so you don't have to worry about it blocking
supply oil. Maybe leave a magnet on the pan to make
darn sure it doesn't get whipped up into

the other side of the intermediate shaft. So I'd suspect the bolt is down
there. If not, can you poke down and around with something like
