Thanks for all the info. The starter on my 86 GLHS has TURBO written on it?
I've haven't pulled it yet but I can see it has TURBO written (sticker) on the
case. So it must be different then a N/A Omni. I'm thinking it only came on
Turbo GLH.

one thing to check is how tight the sheild is.. sometimes those wiggle
loose and fall into the wiring
what ever came stock on a 1986 Dodge Omni turbo is the exact same for the 86
Shelby GLHS Omni..
there really isnt that many replacement parts that were that specific..

I got my bosch rebuilt unit for $70 at murray's discount auto parts with a lifetime
warrenty... I had an old starter with me to match up to make sure it fit (like I
ALWAYS do at discount auto parts stores) so I also got out of the $25 core charge..

The part #s I have from Dodge are 4671130, 4339474.
So is it Direct Drive or Gear R
