My 90 Daytona shelby A/C compressor is so hard to turn when it gets hot,that it trys to stall the engine.I bought a new mopar compressor and dryer. Should I put R12 back in or change it over to 134? I have enough R12 thats no problem.Car only has 11,000 original miles on it. Thanks Steve -

Ok, so is this the old compressor that has that problem? And your putting in a new one to fix the problem? I would highly recommend sticking with R12, the condensors in our cars suck, your much better off with R12 in there than trying to convert to 134a. You may consider having the lines flushed be

Hi Steve, The first thing I would try before replacing the compressor, etc. is adding a few ounces of R-12 oil to the system. It may be all that it needs. It comes in a small can with R-12 as a propellant and you add it to the low pressure side just the same as R-12. Regards, Ed Mazurek ---
