SD tbi motor compatibility

Hello everyone. I was in tyhe junkyard and found two tbi motored cars. 1987 and 1992 both with auto trans. The question is, can i use these long blocks for turbo applications? does all the stuff (other than intake etc) bolt up ok? Like the crankshaft to clutch etc etc. thanks a bunch

Yes as they are essentially the same blocks and cranks. The pistons are different as are the rods. For longevity you'll want to change the rods and pistons unless you run very little boost. The blocks do not have the water outlet or oil drain back holes in the back of the block for
