I have the 1988 parts book and it shows: Grommet, fuel tank filler tube
#5217 578 for all except M body.

at least this was the case for my 88 shelby z and my 87 lebaron coupe. just
have them verify and cross reference it before ordering it. i ordered a
couple spares for both of my dodges since at the time they were pretty ch

I feel your pain. Parts dept budgets must be pretty low. I have found one
guy at all the dealers around me that knows anything about a car.
