Hi All
Well its time to change the front bearings on my Shelby Lancer, anyone out
in Shelby land know any tricks or tips. I picked up new bearing and hub
combo kits. Autozone will lend me a bearing puller with a slide hammer is this
the way to go?

You can pull them that way, but you will need a press to put them back in
without ruining them. I usually just buy the hub with new bearings in it so
I don't have to mess with it since the hub will come off the knuckle.

If these are anything like that Daytonas hub assembly, (and I believe it is)
they are a 15-20 minute job. Basically the 32mm drive axle nut and 4 -15mm
bolts behind the spindle that hold the hub in. You may need a good 15mm 6pt
wrench to get at one of them. I found it easier the last time I
The lancer bearings press in, so they aren't as easy as the ones on the 11in
brake or 91up cars. Shop press is the easiest way, but I've done plenty of
them using a homemade bearing installer also.

Ive done them in about 45mins a side, I've used a slide hammer to pull the
hub out, but I've never had the bearing coming out with the hub, so end up
having to press them out with a shop press or using a hammer and chisel to
cut the race out of the knuckle. I bought the Harbor freight FWD bearing
