Howard,
Either is a good choice. The 5w30 motor oil will work if your going to
change it a lot and the Redline MTL is a good long term addition with better
additives for the life of the transmission.
Don't use a synthetic motor oil like Mobil 1 and such as it's not compatible
with the syn
5w 30 conventional valvoline! Its the best stuff
there is for these transmissions.

Hi Cliff: speaking of 5 speeds, I have a 87 Shelby Z bought used with a
wonderful shifting 5 speed. Can't leave well enough alone would like to
change the tranny fluid as I am doing with all the other fluids.
Am I going to use 5W-30 engine oil or Redline MTL 70W80?
